The Oregon Golf Association (OGA) was formed in 1924 to conduct the Oregon Amateur golf championship which included both Men and Women. The OGA is a 501(c) 6 non-profit amateur golf association governed by volunteer, amateur golfers who employ a full-time, professional staff of 11 people.
Today, the OGA has evolved into a non-profit entity of more than 270 public and private clubs numbering approximately 40,000 members throughout Oregon and SW Washington. The OGA is unique in that its membership is comprised of all demographics including Men, Women, Adults, Seniors, Juniors, Private and Public golfers.
With roots in the mid-2000s, the ExploreOregonGolf initiatives & marketing campaigns initially began as a way to promote travel, golf and facilities in the Oregon & SW Washington region. It's grown into programs including the Passport, which was developed out of careful consideration and asking and listening to our members & facilities about what they wanted. Members wanted more value & access. Courses wanted more traffic and golfers. The Passport combines the two to drive members to new courses, play more golf and save more money. Courses are exposed to new players and have the opportunity to gain customers.
